Help, I cannot choose - Exhaust thread again!

Postby Gaz911 » Thu Jan 04, 2018 2:07 pm

Going in for a Cat-Back Exhaust, Nemesis UK are doing a January 10% discount, so that's where I will buy.

Been speaking to Guy there on the online Chat and been very helpful.

Narrowed down to Corsa Sport (Black Tip) or Borla s-type (Black tip).

I think these would suit me best with noise level, being a daily drive and pretty new to modding.

I like the deep tones and would like it to be noticable in idel, and without the raspy sound when accelarting, which I think both these offer.

I watched video after video but hard to tell.

There is a £320 difference in the systems, so just wanted to know out of expereice, is the Corsa worth the extra or very similar.

Thanks for help

Always had borla and been very happy

Personally, I would go borla and spend the savings on a full cat back with light resonator for 3 reasons

1. Stock system weighs a ton and you have to cut it to put the back boxes on
2. Cat back is very light and borla has no rasp or drone.. borla resonator is sweet
3. Xpipes or h pipes are raspy and very loud too loud

I bought the Borla S-Type (with black tips) from Nemesis last year, would definitely recommend it (my review is also on their website ;) ).

Plus, with £320 difference, i'd spend that on another mod.

Thanks. Regarding Borla, does it have a deepish tone on Idle and at low speeds?

Not sure why but always waving to the Corsa for some reason. Been told its more of an European car sound ie C63ish, while the Borla is more old school V8 but less refined. Is European deeper or Old V8?

I wish I could make my mind up.

Borla's sound awesome - honestly there is little difference between the two. most of the noise is down to the firing order, crank design and the value opening, closing and overlap duration.

Think of like this V twin motorbikes

- Harley - push rod
- Ducati - demso
- Japanese - what ever they are copying this year

all sound different and the pipe you put on is not going to make a harley sound like a ducati

go with Borla, spend the cost difference on a good centre resonator and your off to the races. it will sound much better than corsa axelbacks and be lighter to so more mpg or speed :)
