Did you try unzipping your top like the chicks in the lambo on The Cannonball Run

I've been stopped three times now - Twice got a telling off and the third time I had to get my plates checked at an MOT station. No fine though.

I've now changed my back plate to a legal one as I can't be doing with the hassle. The front one is still black but they never seem to0 bothered about that.

EDIT - Just found out that one of the chicks in the Lambo was in fact Catherine Bach who plays Daisy Duke - I never new that.

Just had an mot nightmare

have smaller plate on the front compies with 14a but tester said I could have a full size plate on the bumper or even inbetween the fog lights - no reason for not displaying full size plates etc

would not accept road traffic act, said that vosa manual was the bible and RTA was irrelent. I could be the man from the ministry etc

what works in these situations ? apart from going and buying a full size plate

So I guess this plate wont cut it over here? Note perfectly legal in the US I ran it for over 10 years with a lot of thumbs up from other educated expats.

I'd go elsewhere. It's a grey area but in my view, it is either exempt or it is not and it's not a case of treating the car differently either end.

Or go to another MOT station. Clearly the tester believes only he is right and will not be swayed by any other evidence.
