Common Service Items

SERVICE ITEMS BASED ON '05 GT (V8) MODEL

Image

I'm going to compile a list of common service items. This will reference the Ford part and alternatives that people have found. I'll do the V8 stuff, if anyone wants to supply me with V6 and GT500 info then great.

It would be useful if you could let me have part numbers and suppliers, not just say "yeah a Mondeo filter will fit" ;)

the v6 uses the same oil filter, fuel filter and air filter
comma make an oil for fords called xtec which is 5w30, which you can buy for as little as £10 a gallon, we (hte) offer this and the vauxhall 5w30 long life oil to mussy owners ( my opinion is if an oil is disigned to do 30k then its going to give better protection for our 5k oil changes) and it doesnt cost that much more
weve found a uk air filter will get the number and put it here
as to the pollen dont take chances like i did, found one just a bit smaller and fitted it and water passed by it and straight on my sjb :(
hence why mine is going in to be recon'd next week :(
as to spark plugs - well ive changed mine at 23k only cost me 35 quid, going to do gills v8 too (numbers to follow)

took some out of an explorer last week with 60k on them....... nasty !!

has anyone managed to come up with a uk conversion on the fuel filter??? not the us fram filter which ive tried to get via fram in the uk?

as to brake fluid dot 3 isnt good enough for our weather. and if your car is 2 years old then it needs changing ive put dot 5.1 in mine and wow !!!!

Some oil filter numbers:
K&N Performance Gold - HP-2010
Bosch Premium Oil Filter 3410
Fram PH2
Motorcraft FL820S
AC Delco PF1250

Fuel Filter
WIX 33243
Fram G10166
Motorcraft FG1083
These are $9-$13 from www.rockauto.com - ebay UK want £24.50 for one!
However, I found them here in the UK for under a tenner!(even if I paid $6 for mine in Autozone)
http://www.inlinefilters.co.uk/index.ph ... ord=FG1083

Cabin Filter
Motorcraft FP-53 ($14 from rockauto)

Air filter
FA1773

PCV Valve
EV-273

To be honest, I've had a scout round the web and most are unique to the Mustang and rockauto are cheap enough to get a supply sent over.
