HIDS

Taken from 'The Manual....' sub forum http://www.s197.co.uk/s197/forum/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=4433 - it's so far down the list I don't think anyone is seeing my posts! Quote cut short as not relevant to my question at the bottom....

I used VVME (Visionari LLC) as the supplier and they have a website (http://www.vvme.com) and an eBay moniker of sinoshop. Why them? Well they are so cheap that if it all goes wrong, then you can afford another set and keep the extra bits as spares.

Firstly the ones you need for the fogs are VVME H10 Single Beam.

Secondly the ones you need for the head lights are VVME H13-3 Bi-Xenon (Dual Beam).

Are these products still the best value for money? I realise the post is a few years old now...

Yeah they do seem like good value for money, and you can get the slimline balasts now for a few dollars more which makes hiding the rats nest of wires (why I removed mine) much easier, I might get a new set before next winter.

I haven't checked whether these are the best value or not, but they are still working absolutely fine for me. And still a massive improvement over the stock candles.

Cheap ballasts give out a lower current than expensive ones and the difference can be that a 5000k bulb will give out a bluer light than a proper ballast.

Update.

Mike and the guys changed the bulbs last summer, but last night i swapped out one of the original ballasts.
Great value for money!
