got my MUSTANG !! what next

Postby mikeymike » Tue May 30, 2017 8:20 pm

I picked up my Mustang .its amazing I LOVE IT ..I got a auto ecoboost convertible. In white /It looks a bit bland thou so I plan a full wrap in grey with black stripe and black alloys.
I would also like to change exhaust.add a rear spoiler .may be lower it slightly.
HELP needed as I not sure what exhaust to buy and from where.spoiler ?? lowering?? do I need to underseal the chassis.
I know all this info is probably on the forum somewhere but I am a bit lazy .I would post a pic but dont no how too

Many thanks Mike

Welcome to the club Mike. I also have a ecoboost, iv been rocking the miltek full exhaust on mine for about a year now, and it sounds great. But exhausts are a bit personal. I'd listen to some clips and see some in person if you can.
Depending where your based, JW racing who have been fairly active on this forum do a fairly decent job at selling and fitting a lot of parts including spoilers, they will probably be able to help you with lowering too

Congrats Mike - that was quick! Nice to hear you are thinking of a wrap...may I propose a "flat" grey? Rather than metallic. Google "Lead foot gray" or "Avalanche gray" that Ford do for the GT350, I think that would look epic, especially with some black stripes, maybe with pin stripes too!

Plenty of wheel options out there, very personal choice...I prefer black over silver but both will work on a grey car.

Re lowering, this was a must do for me. I am lowered on Eibach pro springs (which you can now get from Ford for a crazy cheap price of £150!), spacer wise I have 25mm front & 21mm rear that essentially gives a flush fit on each corner, looks a lot neater & gives the stang a great stance without being super low (about a 1" drop). Mine was done at Modurstang. I believe they use spacers made my "coyote".

Few pics of my set up here; http://www.mustang6g.com/forums/showthread.php?t=83411

Subtle things like the deck lid & front grille work well, personally I am a fan of the red tail lights - another inexpensive mod but looks great! Basically I am listing all of my mods  but may be useful for you to have some ideas!

Exhaust wise, I can't say I have heard many in the flesh & I would say this is what you need to do. Youtube videos are a good guide but they need to be heard in real life. Young manders has the Magnaflow comp cat back which sounds nice IMO.

Check out the cobb accessport tune as well, a lot of great reviews and gives that little extra ooomph I think the EB needs.

Happy modding & welcome to the club :D

ALl your mods depend on exactly what you want, have a look around American muscle and CJ pony parts, find what you 'like' in terms of spoiler, lowering rate etc, and then can assist with companies to buy from.

Few points from me:
1) Regarding wrap, make sure that you find a reputable company and check the join lines etc when it's completed etc.
2) Regarding springs, you can also get coilovers such as pedders, if you do, tell them I sent you and they'll do you a deal :P. Pedders have adjustable coilovers rather than springs that just drop the car.
3) Spoilers, is totally personal preference, if you get a list I can tell you some pro's and con's. Most wings are drilled in, however some are stuck on, and personally if I was putting one on my car, it'd be stuck on
4) Exhaust, all depends on what you want, what sound etc etc. I run a Mganaflow competition cat back on mine (no downpipe as that's just stock).

Exhaust wise, internet is useless, get to meets and hear them in the flesh!!!

Also Kristian above makes some good points, the COBB OTS (off the shelf) stage 1 with a K&N filter does a good world of wonder to the car.

Wheels/Tints etc always help in making the car look more badass... If I had facebook on my work PC I'd show you what mine now looks like. In short it's got this:
    65% blackout tints
    Gloss black exterior plastics
    DD Sidemarkers
    Red Tints
    Rear sequentials
front DRLs and Sequentials (Like the US cars)
LED light replacement for stock bulbs
    Gloss black heat extractor vents
Rotiform R122 SPF custom gloss black alloys
    and then in the interior:
    Graphite grey carbon dipped interior
Red piping around center console etc
    Custom floor mats
Custom pained gloss black calipers with Red decals
    Gloss Black Lug Nuts
    Magnaflow competition Cat Back
Royal Steering Wheels Custom Steering wheel in nappa leather with red stitching and red center marker.
    GT upper and lower grille
    GT splitter

    Other bits:
    K&N panel filter
    Velossa tech ram air intake
Denso ITV 22 pre gapped one step colder spark plugs
Cobb Stage 1 tune + custom resprayed race red face plate (because why not lol)
Resprayed engine bay (Engine cover, Fuse box, Radiator cover)
Steeda IRS alignment and billet irs insert kit (to stop the shakey rear wheels)
Michellin pilot super sport rear tyres

There's probably some other bits I've forgotten

Hi guys just a couple of points to be wary of when pointing people in a certain direction especially on the lowering springs

Ford only offer the Pro Kit version of the Eibach range , if you want the more aggressive Sportline range its still available but through usual specialists or mail order outlets like ourselves. Its unlikely Ford will ever endorse the Sportline kit.

Ford also only show the springs for the GT 5.0 at present , there are no part numbers showing on E Cat as of today for the 2.3 EcoBoost , if you do have a 5.0 GT and are looking, check out our price online , cheaper than Ford and we can install if you wish

http://j-w-racing.co.uk/product.php/9568/4125/eibach_lowering_spring_pro_kit_mustang_5_0gt_2015_

ill keep an eye out for the EcoBoost to be added and adjust our prices accordingly at the time

cheers

Jason :D

wow that wrap looks amazing.I met the wrap guy (hansign)and saw all samples and was just about to go for 3m matt metallic grey.there is a new satin grey available .so I choose that with black double strip and a touch of orange.my car is booked to be done 7th july whilst i am on holiday.
With the lowering do ford offer a lowering spring set I am confused now ?, I dont want to lower too much as I wouldnt get up my drive !!

Ford do springs FOR A GT ONLY. Everything else is people confusing you ;)!

Steeda, Eibach, FORD PERFORMANCE (Import) do Lowering springs for both

Pedders, KW do COILOVERS for both.

Out of personal preference go for Coilovers, however Pedders are about £800-900 for a set, £1k installed, KW can run up to 3k, and Springs are around 400-500 installed and tracked.

Hi All

I have had my Mustang GT now for a month and loving it.

I have been on a few of the forums and looking in so to speak what people are doing.

Im looking to lower and probably at looking to put an exhaust on.

Im in the Kingston area and i have found Bill Shepherd http://www.billshepherdmustang.com

Has anyone used them for any work etc?

Cheers .
Jez
