'19MY Mach 1

Unlike the Bullitt renderings in this post ( viewtopic.php?f=23&p=80541#p80541 ) this Mach 1 rendering isn't anything "official" from Ford, but merely a fan rendering......and it looks bloody superb to me. There have been rumours of a Mach 1 for a few years now, ever since Ford renewed the copyright for the name.

The Mach 1 was introduced for the '69MY so a '19MY would make for a nice 50th anniversary edition. The Mach 1 nameplate was used for quite a while during the Mustang's lifetime. It ran from '69 to '78 (yes, there were Mach 1 versions of the Mustang II !!) and was last seen on the '03/'04 SN95, which is where this rendering gets a fair bit of its inspiration.

Now, imagine this based on the facelifted '18MY, with all the goodies thrown in, including the MagneRide suspension and the option of the 10-speed auto. The '03/'04 also sported a unique engine, using a 305hp 4.6 4-valve V8 when the GT of the time had a 265hp 2-valve V8........so I'd love to see this sporting a 5.2 cross plane crank version of the GT350's motor, good for nigh on 500 naturally aspirated hp.
