Postby Emzo123 » Tue Apr 05, 2016 7:54 pm

Hi all!
Just joined here, hope you guys can help with a few questions that I will be posting in the near future (one being that I'm thinking of upgrading the stock exhaust, not too loud but better sounding than stock)?

Stang due date is October 2016, Black paint, black wheels,Fastback, manual, Just can't wait for the day to come!

When I get any info/news about Mustangs old or new I will be sure to spread it with you guys too!

Look forward to your replies.

Welcome to the forum, When did you place your order. Placed mine on the 13th Feb and as yet have no further details of a date. Even called into the dealer yesterday and they still have no idea.

Just in case you haven't seen my post about my order, or Maunders detailed 'what happens next' thread.
Ordered in December 2015 and given August/Sept delivery. Asked for it to be registered after 1st Sept so it's 66plate.
Received update this weekend that build is 18th April and expected delivery to dealer 2nd July.
So from point of order: 14 weeks to hear details, 16 weeks build, 7 months to keys in my hand (and that's giving the dealer 10 days to PDI).
Emzo if your order follows the same timescale as mine yours is right on the cusp so could be before 16MY cut off (so you will possibly get earlier) or after which means you get Sync3. Which is nice.

Thanks for the info Jonnyrevpants, So sync 3 is a possibility if its a later build, this sounds a good thing then. I have not quite understood the whole sync 3 thing but i guess its worth the wait alone...?
I'm going to go to the dealers within the next couple of days and see if I can get a update on delivery time.
I will let you know how it goes. I'm not too fussed about car being a 65 plate as I have a private plate to go on, any future upgrades that might be going on the later models would be great bonus though :D

Usually the 6mth difference between registration points is worth £500 to the value if/when one sells it on, however I doubt it will be the case on these. The 66 plate is down to my birth year. I'm 50, the Mustang was 50 in 64 yadda yadda. :pidu

Sync3 is, from what I can gather all about streaming music audio. I think it adds Apple music and is supposed to be all round infotainment improvement. Have a search on here, loads of info in the news section which details these subtle differences and more importantly when the build changes.

I make it sound like I know what I'm talking about. It's only what I've read on here by people who did all the research first

Well, went in to ford dealers today for delivery update, been told not to expect it much before 1st of September... Order was submitted on the 1st of Feb,estimated 6 months build date but nothing showing on screen our end as yet...?
In the showroom was a red convertible, black wheels, black interior, must admit it looked beautiful. Originally I ordered a black convertible, came home and changed the order back to the fastback... I do still think it was the right choice (kind of)

Just thought I would give you guys a quick update on delivery date. Order was placed on 11 Jan 2016 ( expected to be due around beginning of Oct) and I have now been informed to expect it in the country by end of July with possible collection in August :D :D :D

Hi All

Just joined the forum as getting my new toy this weekend :)

I've been told all sorts about my delivery date, I think a lot of it is a healthy dose of managing expectations! Was told getting it from the US was the tricky bit but made it's way to Zeebrugge ahead of schedule. Then told by someone else that getting it over from Zeebrugge was the difficult bit and can take weeks... it was in Liverpool days later! As a result crapped my pants and had to shift my car quick time this week as getting my new toy, Fastback GT Impact Blue, weeks ahead of schedule now!

I've never bought a new car before, let alone waited 9 months for one, it's been an emotional rollercoaster but VERY excited now!

Read a lot of recommendations about the upgrading the exhaust, can anyone suggest a particular type and are there any specialists in the Manchester / Cheshire area anyone can recommend?

Also I've asked the dealers if I can swap to the black wheels instead of the Silver ones you get with the Custom pack (black ones look better IMO) but they don't seem to want to do this and said I need to do that privately somewhere? That doesn't sound right to me if the silver wheels are an upgrade you'd think they would be happy to swap? Any advice or again recommended garages to get a good deal on swapping wheels much appreciated.

Can't wait to pick it up.... and on a bank holiday weekend as well! Going to be covering some miles :)

Welcome to the forum and congratulations!

With regards the exhaust.......take a trip to Modurstang. They're a way South from you, but you won't regret it.

With regards the wheels......get a local wheel repair place to paint them. You might get lucky and find someone to swap with, but the black wheels do seem to be the popular choice. I'm not surprised a dealer won't do it.....they'd need to find another customer with a car due for delivery who wants silver wheels, and I think the chances would be slim.

My V8GT is coming on black wheels but I might be interested in swapping for silver. I need to see mine first and of course mine isn't here until July....sods law.

You can get your wheels powder coated by a good wheel refurbishment place and then you can choose matt or gloss black. Think there was a place in Trafford Park?

Hi All,

Picked up my Black GT Fastback the weekend before last...and it fantastic!

I have the silver wheels and I think they look good, however I agree the blacks would suit the colour.

A couple of snags since picking it up. The rear passenger side light unit had moisture inside which caused the lights to fail (look out for heavy condensation). They replaced it in about 20 mins with the unit off the car in the showroom, so no problem.

Also I noticed this weekend that the boot is clipping the body work when closing (only slightly, but it's chipping). I'd read about issues with the build quality however all the 'gaps' looked good when I picked it up. Mind you, I was so desperate to get it on the road after 9 months, I wouldn't have noticed if it had only 3 wheels!

Hope you get them soon and it all goes well. You're going to love it!
