WHO THE HELL IS SPANNER MONKEY?

Postby badhand » Wed May 13, 2015 9:58 pm

Each month, from his secret underground workshop, buried deep inside a volcano on a remote Pacific Island, Spanner Monkey™ will broadcast his simian styled mechanical Top Tips. He will impart his infinite knowledge of the legendary Ford Mustang in periodical primate partworks, enabling us mere mortals to make our cars go faster, look better and attract the opposite sex*.

Some say that his breath smells of petrol, and that he can fix anything with a banana. All we know is he’s called... the Spanner Monkey..

Given that Rudolph is not here I don't think that there will be any monkeys being spanked

Looking forward to the tips and tricks provided by Spanner Monkey - will there be any Spanner Monkey T-shirts?

well, I'm embarrassed to say I did really know this section was here. And when I did see, I thought it was some in joke for long time users.....
Just read two articles and as a 50 yr old petrolhead, I've just learnt a thing or two. As I often say to younger people, in that annoying way older people do, as if they are imparting great wisdom - ' I like to learn something new everyday. The day you stop wanting to learn, is the day you start dying'.

So thanks SpannerMonkey.

I'm glad that my deranged ramblings are of some use. Thanks for your interest.

It's been a bit dead in this section for a while. I've been under the cosh making spunky shiny bits for the race industry as well as building my own Mustang powered project, so haven't had much time to sit and ponder the idiosyncracsys of the Pony car.

I'm at a bit of a quandry though. I can start to get really technical about relative strengths of metals, triangulation of vehicle structures, stressed and unstressed areas, forces in action etc but I feel it would only be interesting to a very small percentage of the massive, and relevant to an even smaller number.

I think it would be better to ask me questions and I'll do my best to answer them. Obviously I'll commit my ramblings to keyboard once in a while, but it would be nice (from my point of view) to have more interaction.

Discuss...

Knowledge is power as they say - I'll read them all, might not understand a hoot about it; but hey ho!!!

My questions would probably make you winse they'd be that pointless. such as 'Ecoboost, Oiled Pannel filter or not' etc.
