Good post TT.

I have had a price off this guy after seeing this video. The GT is my first ever new motor, would you guys recommend the ceramic protection cover looks bloody brilliant to be fair. the only downer is that they have to keep your motor for three days :?

Picked up my GT on Friday and loving it , my only complaint is that I actually took in an aluminium plate I got made up (so can be bent to contour of front bumper) and some quality 3 m tape to the dealer on Monday and said NO BRACKET . So hey presto on picking it up big chunky bracket drilled into body work for flip sake big holes behind the reg on front bumper now, I took off the chunk reg bracket and put the reg on myself.

DEFINITELY go with Ceramic protection..........but only from a pro like this, NOT the stuff the dealer will offer for between £300-400.

It's then important to adhere to good car washing practises to ensure the car stays looking good for longer (snow foam / 2 bucket method etc).

:)

(as for the dealer and your 'plate. GRRRR! However, I'm pretty sure the bumper leaves the factory with 2 small "dimples".....effectively guiding the dealers where to drill, so the bumper is never "virgin" underneath)

Thanks TT that makes me feel a bit better that it has dimples from factory, It just reminded me again watching the video you posted and his unmolested front bumper ha .

Luckily the detailer you have shown is only about 30 miles away so think I will invest in a ceramic coat primarily for protection and to keep the shine, and as you have pointed out you must use a good valet in the future to keep the car looking mint .No foreign car washes for a fiver in other words.

Hi,

He uses Gyeon Quartz 2 durabead

Q2 DuraBead is one of the most advanced glass coatings in Gyeon's portfolio. Its technology is focused on delivering the world's longest-lasting protection, focused on an extremely durable hydrophobic layer. We believe there is no other glass coating in the world which creates such a long-lasting beading effect as Q2 DuraBead. In the set you can find the well known Q2 Mohs, the hardest base coat on the market, together with Q2 Bead, an ultra advanced, super hydrophobic top coat. Q2 DuraBead is a real alternative for customers expecting Q2 Mohs+ durability, with a focus on a spectacular, world-beating long-lasting hydrophobic effect and unique self-cleaning abilities

New car detail package £150.00

Gyeon Quartz ceramic protecion £285.00

So £435.00 in total .

You can get the wheels done as well for an extra £100

Your Ford dealership will charge you £399 but I dealt it's no where near as good as they guy in the video or the products they use.

He isn't far from me, but I need the car first. Do they put anything special on the rag top.

That looks STUNNING - does anyone know of someone in the Hampshire/Berkshire area that is as good quality as that? Having to leave the new car for 2-3 days that far away wouldn't be easy :?

Absolutely! Contact Nick at Detail My Car and tell him I (Paul) sent you. He's based in Newbury and recently did a black S550.

You won't get a slick video, but you WILL get a slick car! He did my S197 a couple of years ago

wow that car looks like it just came off the assembly line with that gleaming body work !!

I treated my leather seats today with some feed and protect, it does feel very soft the leather in the S550 so just a precautionary measure.

I've spoken to a local detailer who does the same process with the quartz protection and he is taking delivery of my car direct from the dealership when it arrives.

The process will take a couple of days and the whole new car detail came to £600 + vat. That covers inside clean with carpet/leather protection plus 3 stage wash, polish and quartz protection.

Does anyone know of or recommend a good detailer in Scotland? The closer to Glasgow the better but I'm willing to travel. Once I get the car, lol!
