Postby dervcruiser » Mon Mar 07, 2016 10:00 pm

Fitted these yesterday. Ford really should have fitted them to the S550.

They should have fitted a lot off things but then it's not a affordable car any more,an extra $40 for hood struts x thousands of cars adds up. One of the best mods tho, that original hood brace sucks.

Ford Racing do them , we have a set for our car , need to see if they are OK for the carbon bonnets or maybe too strong

if they dont work we will replicate the brackets and have our version made with adjustable struts , ill keep this thread posted as if the Ford ones are too strong we could have that set up for grabs

cheers

Yeah the hood struts are fine for the stock aluminum hood and for CF ones. They won't be strong enough for glass fiber ones though!

Steeda Uk do a set designed for the UK model and are more heavy duty then Ford Racing. There is a fair bit of weight in that Bonnet , stronger the better in my opinion .

Steeda brackets have three times more surface area than our competitors' to disperse the force of the hood struts over a greater area.

we have the Ford Racing ones listed on our site and also used on our car , for the price difference Steeda are way over priced

http://j-w-racing.co.uk/product.php/9644/4168/2015_16_mustang_bonnet_lift_kit_w__laser_engraved_ford_performance_logo

we have the bonnet up and down on our car regularly as you may expect and the Ford Racing ones work fine

cheers
