Oil & Filter Sourcing

Postby Expat » Sun Aug 07, 2011 8:48 am

Looking for places in the UK that have oil and oil filters in stock for the Shelby. Where are you guys getting your supplies from? Any recommendations for general maintenance parts suppliers?

With many Mustangs using the F1AZ-6731-BD (FL-820S) oil filters, it shouldn't be very hard to find.
I am more concerned with finding the Motorcraft 5W-50 oil (XO-5W50-QGT). The dealer wants to charge £13.95 per bottle - absolutely ludicrous!

The oil filter is the same as a V6 Mondeo but UK Ford dealers don't recognise the Motorcraft part #FL820S.

Ask for a 4628534 and when you take it out of the box it says Motorcraft FL820S on it :o

Ebay sell the equivalent K&N Performance Gold HP2010 which is useful as it has a nut on the end for easy removal.

Wonderful! :pidu

I can get a case (12) of the FL-820S filters for $75 shipped to my door here in jolly old England. Even bigger discounts on larger orders too -- 5 cases shipped = $250 (about £150 total or £2.50 per filter) if anyone would like to buy a few as well.

Will check into the oil sources ... thanks

Peter,
If the filters you have are FL-820S I will gladly take them off your hands.

All,
I am used to sending a sample of my used motor oil off for analysis. I am quite familiar with the who/how/where for the USA, but have no idea of any business that performs this sort of service here in the UK. Not wanting to go through the international shipping fiasco with a combustible liquid.

If you use halfords you HAVE to use a trade card. At least 40 percent off. The discount has floored me every time I gave used it.

What's a trade card? And where can I get one?

PM sent for the filters.
